Sarah’s experience in the visual arts started with years of drawing and painting. While living in Japan, however, she was exposed to a world of local potters and fell in love with the form. Her own work is still very much inspired by Japanese styles of ceramics. Since returning to the U.S., she has been learning and practicing at Yu Tang, first as a student, and now as staff member. She spends much of her free time reading—perhaps someday she’ll even manage to get through all the books on her shelves. She is always happy to chat about ceramics or a good book, so feel free to say hello when you see her at the studio.
