Megan is a ceramicist who joins us from Nome, Alaska. Though she misses the sea ice, she’s excited to explore her new home of Seattle. She’s mostly made her living as a science journalist, but she’s also been practicing ceramics for more than a decade. She has years of experience teaching beginner wheel classes and helping to keep ceramics studios ticking. Megan loves finding community in the studio environment, and she especially loves introducing new students to clay.

“My ceramics practice helps me find balance—between control and serendipity, technical skill and expression. I think integrating these elements helps foster confidence and self-acceptance, on and off the wheel.”
